Fortune Beach
Photo taken on February 22, 2012
Believe it or not, this was not staged in any way. I went down to a stretch of beach and found this Magic 8-Ball washed up on the sand near the kelp. I had to take a picture, here is the story and in no way did I make this up. I scouted out some areas by Sunset Cliffs and found this hidden stretch of beach that I had to climb down to. All the time I was climbing down I was thinking, "How the hell am I going to get back up once I get down there?" The one day I forgot my cell phone is the day I do something like this. Thank goodness it was on a busy street. Anyway, I was looking at the beach which is really immaculately cared for by the local surfers, props to those guys. There is a garden of plants and trees that have no business at the beach edge all set up and maintained very nicely. Well strolling along the beach, I first thought the 8-ball was a float for a net, but once I got closer, I saw what it was. Trash, and of all, plastic trash that probably washed up during high tide. I took my shot and took the 8-Ball to properly dispose of it.
